Earth day is a time to celebrate this amazing planet we all share

We appreciate the resources, the beauty and natural wonder our planet has to offer, but, there is still a lot of work to be done to make sure it stays beautiful, clean and healthy for a future for all to enjoy.  It is the perfect time to renew your commitment to truly make a difference.
Challenge yourself to learn at least one more thing about the three R's.
  • Reduce:  look for ways to reduce your carbon footprint at home and at work.
  • Reuse:  Use reusable grocery bags.  (If you do end up with plastic bags, be sure to return them to your grocery store bins for them to recycle)
  • Recycle:  Be sure to throw your glass bottles, cardboard, aluminum cans, mail, food boxes, paper, and plastic bottles in the recycling bin.
One of the things I recently learned that you should not recycle, was greasy pizza boxes.  They can gum up the recycling machines and ruin a whole load of recyclable items.  I assumed that they used shredding and heat to melt stuff down that it would take care of any leftover residue.  I was wrong and will work harder at making sure things are empty.
In all your busyness, try just a little to make everyday Earth Day.
Enjoy the beautiful spring weather, we know the 100 degree temps are just around the corner.

Just how important is your job?

The internet has made it easier to be an independent small business  owner by allowing you to connect with other people all over the country.  It allows you access to information and resources that you can use on a daily basis.  You will get nowhere however, if you think your job is less important than anyone else.  Self-doubt has no place in the small business world.

Be confident!
In our line of work, we encounter many people who look for reasons to say no, or to make us feel as though we are not worthy of their consideration or respect.  Although some of the people who have worked for us in the past have had multiple college degrees in all different lines of work, such as engineers, physicians assistants and entrepreneurs who are building their own businesses.  They just needed a little extra financial help in order to pay off student loans, braces for their kids teeth or to catch up on bills after they were laid off from their more"important" jobs. I remember a college professor saying many years ago that Campbell's soup and Janitorial services were something that would never go unneeded.  (Yes, you can have a college education and run a janitorial company!)
Your business success has everything to do with how your perceive yourself. Do not let people keep you from working towards your goals.  Determination and drive will help you achieve you goals, and when you reach those... set new goals.  Don't let someone with  a fancy job title take away your passion for what you do.
Be kinder
Just be nice to everyone.  Support people, support their dreams ~ even if you can't help, a few words of encouragement are always welcome.
