Where did the weekend go?
We spent most of Saturday and Sunday trying to get the pool clean and sparkling after some major dust storms...two nights in a row! We decided to spend part of the hot, yucky weekend inside a cool movie theater. The Harkins theater near us has reclining seats and hot, buttery popcorn. What more could you ask for except maybe some Starburst or licorice. Mission Impossible Fallout I'm not a movie critic, but here are a few words to describe this movie: Exhilarating, adrenaline pumping, twists and turns. And those are just the stunts, which Tom Cruise does himself. Nothing fake there! If you are looking for a great action movie ~ this is it! Mama Mia: Here We Go Again This movie was a fun entertaining cool summer escape. As a movie goer, I like movies that don't always make me think about how it's going to end. And, who doesn't enjoy all the ABBA songs? This movie was made at Universal Studios, which I learned during the credits is "green". They have worked hard to implement green practices in order to reduce their impact on the environment. From lowering their energy consumption by using LED lighting to re-purposing or donating products used on the sets. As a green company ourselves, it's even more incentive to enjoy going to the movies. AND if that's not enough Cher's in it! (These are just our own opinions, we don't work for any of these franchises, companies or products mentioned above.)

Over thinking is the biggest cause of unhappiness ~
Keep yourself occupied Keep your mind off of things that don"t help you Think positively! We have a successful business that improves the life of others as well as our own lives. Running a successful business takes more skills and resources than any one individual possesses. People need friends and partners to help them overcome daily obstacles that stand between them and their goals. Asking for help should be a sign of strength, not weakness. Most people feel responsible for themselves. We seem to have a "We can do it ourselves" attitude.
Can you help me? Figure out what you need and make an organized request for help. Sometimes requests can lead to incompetency and the people or person is incapable of doing it the way you want it. But, they were willing to help. A different perspective is often overlooked. People have many strengths and talents that can compliment your idea or project. Delegating tasks can help you reduce stress. Don't be distracted by small irrelevant things. Seeing the whole picture is most important to achieving success. Surround yourself with people who can help you succeed. Our life is far from perfect - but we are thankful for everything we have. I don't know about you, but am not feeling very bloggy today. I'm not sure if it's just because it's a Monday, or perhaps that we have a high heat advisory out until Wednesday. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Hallmark channel and Discovery channel have show that are colliding this week. I love Christmas movies and shows about sharks. So, I will just talk about both.
Monday Musings If we got rid of Monday what would Tuesday do? It's kind of a "weak" day and probably couldn't take all the pressure. What would we do with Monday (I'm sure there many suggestions as to where Monday can go) Would Wednesday still be "hump day"? Christmas in July There are 154 shopping days left until Christmas, so with sales going on right now you should consider getting your shopping done early to beat holiday season stress. Also, there are plenty of Christmas movies on Hallmark right now so make sure to watch if you need to get motivated to shop! Swim Away If you have gone into a swimming pool in the last few days you have probably found it not to be quite as cool and refreshing as it was in June. It seems to keep you a little cooler after you get out of it though. Why is it that the pool cleaner spends most of it's time in one area until you get in and attempt to exercise or swim. That little sucker heads straight for your feet as soon as you get in. Does it have sensors that lead it to you? Have a sharktastic and merry Monday! We don't know who is stealing your lunch from the refrigerator (It was probably something better than what they had though, so really it's kind of a compliment!) But, we can clean out the fridge and make it shine. As well as your entire work space!
Having a cleaning service brings an undeniable advantage to your place of work. We are an easy partnership that keeps your business running smoothly. We welcome comments and questions about the cleaning. In some of our offices, we have a notebook or chalkboard just for this purpose. We don't avoid you. Add value to your office. Talk to the owner, not some salesman off the street. He can help you come up with a cleaning solution that works for your office and fits your budget needs. The owner likes the challenge of working to suit everybody's needs - yours and ours. And the consultation is free. Have a terrific (and sparkly) Thursday! yHaving a hard time keeping your cool in this muggy weather? You can't even walk from your car to your office without working up a healthy glow. Many work places aren't very cool either, (Some stores at the mall are down right uncomfortable!) so this sweaty feeling never goes away. Many of the offices we clean at night either turn their air conditioning off all together or turn it way up. We come in and are moving quickly to get these done so we can get back to our cars to cool off before we do it all over again. If you have a janitorial service coming in after hours and are able to give them a few extra hours of cooler air, please let them know the times that they can come in. They will greatly appreciate it!
Laundry troubles One of the constant battles I have during this time of year is pit stains. These stains are difficult to get rid of with normal machine washing. Chemicals in antiperspirant react with the salt that we sweat out during this disgusting time of year. (Kudos for those of you who are used to the high heat and humidity. I will take a dry heat any day!) They leave behind a pasty, white residue in the arm pits of many of our shirts. A few quick and easy fixes that I have found to work are: Lay the garment down with the armpit stains up. Wipe off an leftover deodorant residue. Sponge the stain with white vinegar starting at the outer area to the middle. Rinse with warm water then rub with an enzymatic stain remover. I have found Dawn dish soap to work very well. Work into the fabric by rubbing it together with your fingers. ** Let sit for about 10 minutes. Launder as usual with your regular laundry detergent. Air dry to help prevent any other color changes from setting in. Another recipe that works well with stains that are also a little smelly includes using baking soda, hydrogen peroxide (the kind in your bathroom) and Dawn dish soap. ** You should already have these products in your home. You can mix these together into a paste and apply with an old toothbrush to the stains. (I am usually in a hurry, so I just use equal amounts of each instead of measuring) Let sit for a little while and wash as usual and air dry. Repeat as necessary. ** Pre-test fabric before treating As with any laundry fix, you'll need to test for color-fastness before trying any of these methods on your clothes. If your wear expensive clothing or have a favorite shirt you want to keep forever, you may want to mention these stains to your dry cleaner if you are having a problem. I do not work for the makers of Dawn dish soap, but I am a big fan of all that this amazing product can do! As well as, vinegar, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. These are sensational products that are cheap and easy to use. If you have a remarkable cleaning product that you get great results with, please let us know so we can give it a try. We are always open to improvement. Hope you are able to keep your cool on this muggy Monday! After all these powerful summer storms that have been rolling through the valley for the last few days, your office could probably use a tune-up. Wind gusts up to 71 mph will have your workplace choked with dust from all the blowing dust that just about always precedes the rain on these hot and humid days of the monsoon season. The official monsoon season starts on June 15th and ends on September 30, with some predictions calling for a little more rain then we usually get. Now is a good time to check the weatherstripping on your entry doors to make sure they are keeping out as much dust and debris as possible, since they tend to wear out from heat and constant use.
We don't show up with a broom and mop - we have a proven method that uses new and traditional green solutions. Our team cleans some unconventional workplaces as well as some beautiful offices that require their own special set of guidelines for cleaning. Amazingly enough, dust seems to be an ongoing problem in all workplaces! We want to be part of the solution. Choose a team that is dedicated to keeping your workplace green, clean and healthy. You tell us what you need and we will work hard for instant results that make everybody happy. Happy Monday!
I recently came across this on Pinterest (Don't judge me, but I love this sight) and found it to be funny and true. I'm not sure who originally wrote it, but it's true in most situations. Let me know what you think. Nobody, Anybody, Everybody and Somebody This is a story about four people named Anybody, Everybody, Somebody and Nobody - there was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it! Somebody got angry about it, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. These are not to be confused with "Not Me" or "I didn't do it". These are a whole different group of people who seem to live mostly in homes with children! I think we have met all of these people, however if you are looking for someone to deal with cleaning our name is All Done! Is having a day off in the middle of the week beneficial or does it make the week seem longer? Since the Fourth of July fell on a Wednesday this year, many places of business gave off only the one day. And doesn't it just figure that the next day back is going to be one of the hottest days of the summer, so far!
A shorter work week or maybe just more flexible hours would help your employees get more done and could make your business more successful. Many doctors offices are only open during the week from 9 to 5, leaving their patients to take time off work in order to see a doctor. It could improve the well-being of people by allowing more time to themselves. Strengthening relationships with people we value. A shorter work week would help parents balance their time with their kids - as well as reduce the number of hours their kids are in daycare. Imagine having some extra time in the evenings to relax and enjoy yourself, instead of having to rush through dinner and prepare for the next work day. You should be able to enjoy your current day to its fullest! Employees who work less tend to be more productive than those pushing themselves beyond a 40 hour week. They would make a stronger work force who gets sick less often. Having more days off around a holiday would allow more people to participate in local activities that make our communities stronger and friendlier. Unless you have a job that you absolutely love, you could get away from the "live to work" frame of mind, and be more open to "working to live" state of mind. We would better appreciate the things we do have. Many different countries already have these ideas set in place. What are your thoughts on having more time to do what you want to do? Just think how unique it would be not to be stressed from the moment you got out of bed... |
