Nothing makes you feel like a successful business more than receiving an invitation to join the Better Business Bureau! We appreciate the challenges of meeting a deadline and turning over a product or service that we can be proud of, we are happy to be part of this highly motivated group.
We have always had high standards and have followed our own set of rules. Becoming a member of BBB was not challenging in how we operate our business practices. Treating people as you wish to be treated is easy, and we have earned quite a bit of business by word of mouth. Being friendly and accommodating is just as important as just saying "yes" to people's requests. We carry a strong work ethic, receiving accreditation from BBB helps prove that we are trustworthy and reliable. We had some storm damage recently and before we hired a company to come in and give us estimates, we checked with the Better Business Bureau to see if they had any complaints against them. Our home warranty company unfortunately, does not require that the services they send out have accreditation with the BBB. A few of the companies they sent out performed very highly and others, not so much. Out of curiosity, I checked their record and found (not surprisingly) that they had a poor rating. I find this sad, because it is so much easier to just do a good job that you are proud of. If you are looking for a reliable janitorial service in the greater Phoenix area, one that has been around for awhile (35 years) and knows what they are doing, please contact us. We are more than happy to help. Have a marvelous Tuesday! We had a wonderful weekend volunteering at the Happy Tails Auction and BBQ on Saturday. The weather was beautiful in Pinetop and many people and their pets showed up to support this very worthy cause. The fantastic auction items ranged from fishing boats and art work to desserts and antiques. There really is something for everyone. Some of the available pets even found their fur-ever homes!
A growing trend among some businesses is to allow their employees to bring in their furry friends. We know that being around pets reduces employee stress, improves morale and lowers employee turnover. There are many things to consider before bringing your best friend to work and you should schedule doggy interviews to see if they are a good fit. A dirty, smelly office is not a fun place to work in, and even the best, well behaved dogs make messes. The most wonderful dogs in the whole wide world still leave hair, drool and leave dirty paw prints on the floor. If you are thinking of turning your workplace into a pet friendly office, don't neglect the clean-up. Many dog- friendly workplaces encourage their pet owners to share chores. While some want you to be solely responsible for your pet. R & S Commercial Cleaning Service has always been pet friendly. Being a green cleaning service means we are already using Eco-safe, environmentally friendly green cleaning solutions. They are safe for humans and pets without exposing anyone to harsh fumes. If you have your pets at work with you today, then it's a perfect day to be happy! Enjoy your day. One of the best feelings is to help bring people and pets together!
The Humane Society of the White Mountains is one of our favorite charities that we like to give our time and energy to. This weekend we are volunteering for the 12th Annual Happy Tails Auction and BBQ. It is being held this Saturday in Pinetop at The Orchard at Charlie Clark's. This is a really fun event to attend, they have a live auction, silent auction and several different raffles. Along with a great BBQ. If you are looking for a new member of the family, they have a lot of wonderful cat's and dog's to choose from. We have adopted quite a few dogs and cats from there and they are all wonderful animals. (Especially since Indy has grown out of the puppy stage!) Sometimes there are ways to give back that don't involve large amounts of cash. We just play a small part in helping these animals find their forever homes. If you are looking for a new family member, enjoy attending auctions or just want to get out of the heat, this is a fun event that is very laid back and easy to attend. We hope you have a fantastic weekend! Are you an employee who takes on too much?
Sometimes I wake up ridiculously early and start thinking about all the things I would like to accomplish that day. Do I work until a project is finished or just give a few hours to each project in hopes that they will get done in a timely matter? Certain projects are enjoyable as well as challenging and others, not so much. But, the feeling when you have completed any project is rewarding! Don't be an overachiever. We tend to hold ourselves to unrealistically high standards, that can lead to burn out very quickly. We start feeling resentful about waking up thinking about work or spending our weekends trying to catch up with it all. Prioritizing what really matters will help you get closer to your goal with hopefully the results you are looking for that will help you and your business. Get Real Set realistic goals. Don't push yourself so hard that you fall short and your work quality diminishes. Slow progress is better than no progress, build on what works for you. For all that you do for your business, let us help. We make office calls! We are very grateful for all of our clients who think of us whenever they expand and add a new office or offices as is the case now. We have worked for this company since 2011 and they were a referral from the company that we have worked for since 1982.
Many things have changed, but our quality and environmental conscientiousness have not. If anything, our green knowledge and techniques have only improved. (Like fine wine!) Are you the keeper of your office? Would you like to come into work on Monday facing a fresh, clean work space? Join our "Green Team" and let us handle all your cleaning needs. Enjoy your weekend! With all this "cycling" going around you would think we would be in better shape!
If you participate in at least a few of these, you are shaping a better world to live in by keeping a few things out of the landfills. Recycling It's hard not to recycle nowadays since most cities have a program that makes it easy. I was very surprised when our city started it and took away a regular trash day. I thought we would be overflowing with trash, but such a large majority of stuff goes into our recycle can that we only need one trash pick-up a week. A large majority of our green businesses have two waste cans under their desks. One for regular trash that usually has a liner in it and another one for paper, paper cups and plastic bottles, etc. Our business separates these and puts it in the appropriate containers. Usually business parks have two separate garbage cans outside also. Upcycling This is also know as creative reuse, which is transforming unwanted objects into something useful. Pinterest is full of mindful ideas to upcycle these products ranging from clothing, tin cans, furniture to tires and even wheels. The possibilities are endless if you let your imagination run free, you can create something useful and pretty, and decrease the amount of junk going into the landfills. Pre-cycling The practice of reducing waste by attempting to avoid bringing items that will generate waste in the home or business. I have never really though of the word "precycle" before, although I do try to think before I buy. Buying one large container instead of several smaller ones is a good idea, and you are keeping the landfill free of extra items being thrown out. Before you buy, try to purchase products packed in recycled packaging, look for the recycled symbol. Bringing your own reusable bags is easier said then done, I can't seem to remember to put them back in the car after I have used them. Don't purchase styrofoam it contains polystyrene, which is the most difficult material to break down. Buying fruits and vegetables loose will help you be more selective of what you buy and save on packaging being thrown out. You're making a difference by making wise buying choices! HAVE A PLEASANT DAY! Monsoon storms brought wind, lightening, and heavy rain to parts of the valley again over the weekend. It's sad when these powerful storms cause so much damage when they strike. Weather alerts on our phones seem to be going off all the time this summer. These storms always seem to leave a dirty, gritty mess behind that require a few extra chores: sweeping the sidewalk, more than usual leaf and debris cleaning and pool float retrieval in the yard, car washing (of course), and those darn windows.
Hopefully, you didn't have to much extra work to perform because to these powerful storms. If you want to give your house (or business) a quick boost, clean the windows. If you run out of window cleaner - try this quick, easy and inexpensive stand-by. MIX IT YOURSELF - GLASS CLEANER 2 cups water 1/2 cup of white or apple cider vinegar 1/4 cup (70%) rubbing alcohol Combine ingredients together in a squirt bottle. Spray on paper towel or soft cloth then wipe off windows or mirrors. Remember not to clean windows in the direct sunlight - it will dry to quickly and cause streaks. This mixture is environmentally friendly and works well on windows and mirrors. We use it all the time at home and for our business to remove finger prints, dirt and the dog's nose art. The weather people predict that the monsoon have about a month and a half to go, so make up a few bottles of this DIY glass cleaner and you will be ready to keep those windows clean. May your Monday sparkle! Do any of these synonymous words describe your business?
Outperforming can confirm that your business is a trendsetter. Think of how nice it would be if everywhere you went, the business outperformed your expectations. Then we would never be disappointed. Precious time would not be wasted complaining, or spent trying to fix something that wasn't done right in the first place. Just think how good you felt when you had a service done that outperformed your expectations, you felt that you got what you paid for. It makes you want to give 100% so more people are completely satisfied. Being a locally owned business should make business owners a little more conscience of how they conduct their business. You are offering services or products to other businesses that consist of neighbors in your community. Sadly, social media is everywhere and bad comments seem to get read a little more than compliments, but if you are dedicated and go beyond your customers expectations, they will remember and become a repeat customer. Much of our business is from "word of mouth", which makes us feel great. Occasionally, when an employee leaves one company to go to another, they remember us and refer us to the new company. This has happened several times, and we still work for both companies. Think about companies you've gone to and services you pay for. What did you expect going in? How did their business add up next to your expectations? Please leave a comment and let us know! I hope this Wednesday exceeds your expectations! If you knew smiling could improve your health and your life, decrease stress and anxiety, and strengthen your immune system....Would you smile more often?
The second week in August is National Smile Week. Smiling doesn't take much energy, it releases endorphins which make you happy and it can even burn calories. (So much easier then exercising!) How many smiles do you have? Some people just smile all the time naturally and they make you smile when you see them. Others, not so much....A forced smile does not reach their eyes and you can tell they have other things on their mind. A person who has a tight-lipped smile could be concealing emotions such as shyness or anger. Their smile might be lopsided which could mean they aren't quite ready to commit to a genuine one due to mixed emotions. I think one of my favorites would be the smug smile. This one could be a sign of humor or perhaps self satisfaction or even arrogance. The careless attitude could make you want to tell them to "wipe that stupid smile off your face", but you would probably be smiling when you said it. Surround yourself with people who smile and have an awesome Monday. |
