Summer is officially over, even though the temperatures say different. School has started and it's time to navigate new daily schedules. Our youngest daughter has started college at a state university and I hope and pray that it is a positive experience for her, and that she makes many great new friends. Isn't this something we all wish for our kids since they started kindergarten and preschool?
As we are supporting (literally!) a local university we are thankful for the many of you who choose to support a small local business. You're not helping a C.E.O. buy a third holiday house, you are helping support a little girl with ice skating lessons. Sports equipment and a team jersey for a young boy. Tuition and books to make a dream come true. Or maybe to put food on someone's table. Whatever your reason for using a small business, or shopping at a local store. You are awesome and we all gratefully appreciate it and hope you continue to do so. Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday.

Do you believe you were built for the job that you are doing?
I like to think that we were built to run a a great business, not to dust and clean toilets. I suppose attitude has a lot to do with it. We are good at what we do, we have persistence to continue doing it for the last 37 years. There are many perks to owning your own business, and many downsides. Such as not having the time to take a longer vacation, because people notice when the owner is gone and then they complain. Then you could be in jeopardy of losing a client. We train our employees well, but sometimes we all forget the little things. More, more, more And it seems sometimes that the more you give, the more clients take advantage of you. Where do you set your boundaries as to how much time you can spend doing someone a favor for free? How often does that favor seemingly work into your regular routine? In a perfect world - everyone would be treated equally. Any job that you do or people do for you would be appreciated. I don't usually complain about being a business owner, but some days you can wake up with more anxiety than excitement for starting your day. The weather is hot and miserable outside, and many of our clients turn off the air conditioning after their workday, making it even harder for us to move in a building without any air flow. So sometimes we do tend to move a little quicker inside a hot office. Fight to keep going Some days we have to keep going and get out of our own heads. Come out of your comfort zone and go after what you want and need to keep your business going. Do it now Sometimes Later becomes never... You need a janitorial service - We need more business....Let's do this! Don't let Tuesday pass you by. Have a terrific day |
