hello august

We are entering the third hot month of summer, the  sun continues to shine and the summer heat now has humidity to go along with it.  Waking up to clouds in the early  mornings lead you to believe that it might be a little cooler outside.  It's not!  Even though stores are putting out fall decorations and the sight of pumpkins has us anticipating pumpkin spice everything, it's still just plain hot outside.
My mom always swore by lighting a candle to help lighten the feel of humidity inside a building.  There is not any hard evidence to support that, but since the new autumn smells are out it can't hurt anything and the warm smells will put us instantly in a better mood for things to come.
Did you know...
The first week of August is National Simplify your Life week.  After being a little lazy this sounds like a challenge to start going through a few piles that have accumulated and getting rid of some stuff.
August is the month of the Perseid meteor shower which will reach it's peak between August 11-13, 2017.
For the first time in about 40 years we will have a total solar eclipse happen on August 21, 2017.
For those lucky ones who celebrate a birthday in August, your birthstone:  Peridot, which is several shades of green symbolizes a great year to come.  What a great thing to look forward to!
