During the lazy days of summer the one thing probably don't feel like celebrating is the Summer Solstice, unless you like really long days that have 14 hours and 22 minutes of daylight to be exact. It's too bad that the longest day of the year is also one of the hottest.
Cool Update to recent blog about using coconut oil for cleaning Last weekend I decided to try cleaning our strappy, metal chaise lounges that we have had for over six years. They sit outside year round and I really didn't expect them to last this long. The plastic straps were pretty dirty and had rust stains on them, so I sprayed off what I could and used a mixture of coconut oil and baking soda on them and let it sit for about an hour. I sprayed them off again and scrubbed a little bit with a washcloth. I am happy to report that they look and feel so much better, and I am not embarrassed to have people sit on them. Has anyone else found something unusual to clean with coconut oil? On a day like today, there is no better time to conserve your energy. Now that's a really creative way to tolerate laziness but then again who are we to judge anyone. A lot of people also think I am lazy but I know in my heart I am doing more important things. It's just that these things only require my brain to function and not really my body. "Energy saving mode" maybe true for some but definitely not to me. It's as if I am saving my time and resources for something that is not really significant.
