TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
Waking up early and getting up seems to be the key so you don’t feel rushed or stressed out before you even start your day. Ha! I once read a saying that goes something like this: “the earlier I get up the behinder I get.” This makes total sense to me as I tend to dawdle if I have too much time, then I end up rushed anyway. So, I might as well stay in bed for a few extra minutes. Being well rested will probably work out better as the day goes on. TOXIC PEOPLE Avoid negative people when you are trying to have a good day. You know who they are! Don’t let them bring you down. Everybody has their moments, some just more than others. They seem to thrive on making others as miserable as they are, and it seems that they magically feel better and you feel worse. Don’t obsess about what they have to say, always have something to look forward to so you can focus on that instead. TAKE IT EASY If you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a few moments to yourself. Reschedule appointments or projects to another day if possible. Spend time with people you enjoy, even it is just a small break or maybe lunch together. You could even step outside for a few minutes and enjoy the flowers or the birds singing. Anything to help you relax for a moment, regroup, and finish the rest of your day. FIT IN A WORKOUT Exercise can improve your mood. It releases endorphins that make you feel good. Running, biking, are fantastic as well as yoga and pilates. I never look forward to any of these, but I do feel great after I’m finished. BE GRATEFUL Sometimes we can’t dictate our own schedule. Take a deep breath and focus on the important things. Surround yourself with people who can help you out.
