Have you ever wondered who is checking up on all these residential, commercial and construction advising groups? Their selling point is that all the people they recommend to you have already been pre-screened for your convenience.
We have been inundated with a tremendous amount of calls and emails from advisory groups promising huge leads for our cleaning business. A large number of sales people try to convince us that they have personal contact with most of these contractors or businesses and will get us in the door. Some have even sent over a lead for house cleaning, which we don't do! Clearly they are not doing their homework to find out we do commercial janitorial and after construction cleaning only. A numerous amount of these sites have given leads to companies that never answer their phone or return phone calls. They charge for services or leads and do not give refunds if you never connect. I decided to check out a few of these companies since we are always looking to add some new businesses to our cleaning route. It seems that many of them make you sign up right away to get the "best deal". The leads you do receive have more than likely been given to other companies as well as yours. Construction companies are finding that it is difficult to cancel the service once they signed with these advising groups. Some networks charge the business owners credit card monthly without giving anything in return. Business owners are losing thousands of dollars. Many of these sites don't monitor themselves or even collaborate with the Better Business Bureau, which has been in business since 1912! And from what I was reading, many of them have even changed their names to escape from the poor service they were offering. BUYER BEWARE!! Whether you are the contractor looking for help building up your business or the person looking to hire a contractor. Do your homework. It could save you $1000's!!
